PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for protecting corrosion of the inner wall of a water storage tank inexpensive, simple and safe when salt is loaded into a treated liquid in a stainless steel-made drinking water storage tank including an electrolytic hypo generator. SOLUTION: When the electrolytic hypo generator is installed in the water storage tank, a container which opens the upper part, has a smooth bottom face and side face, and is made of an insulation is placed in the water storage tank; and the electrolytic hypo generator is placed in the container. It is preferable to make a separated distance avoiding the insulation between the electrolytic hypo generator placed in the container made of the insulation and the inner wall of the stainless steel-made drinking water storage tank at least 100 mm. Also, the height of the container side face is preferably 50 mm to 200 mm. Further, it is preferable to make each of a horizontal separated distance between the inner side face of the water storage tank and the side face of the container, and a horizontal separated distance between the inner side face of the container and the electrolytic hypo generator at least 50 mm.
