PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a naphthalocyanine compound useful for image-forming materials, optical film materials or the like. SOLUTION: The compound is represented by general formula (I). In general formula (I), R111, R121, R131and R141are each independently a group represented by general formula (II); R112, R122, R132and R142are each independently a substituent group; and n112, n122, n132 and n142 are each independently an integer of 0-4. In general formula (II), R211and R212are each independently a hydrogen atom or a substituent group; X211is -O-, -S- or -N(R214); R213and R214are each independently a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group linked by a carbon atom; n211 and n212 are each independently an integer of at least 2; when a plurality of R211, R212, R214, X211or n211 exist, a plurality of R211, R212, R214, X211or n211 may be each the same or different; provided that R211and R212bonded to a carbon atom at theα-position of the oxygen atom bonded to the naphthalene ring of the naphthalocyanine skeleton are both a hydrogen atom.
