<p>Diester of 2-methyl-4, 4-dihydroxymethyl-oxazoline with substd. propionic acid; antilipaemic agent. A cpd. of formula: is useful as an antilipaemic, and esp. an anti-cholestero-laemic, agent, and as a synthetic intermediate. It is prepd. by treating 2-methyl-4,4-dihydroxymethyl-oxazoline with 2-p-chlorophenoxy-2-methyl-propionyl chloride, in the presence of pyridine or NN-dimethyl-aniline, in dioxan, ethyl acetate or chloroform as solvent.</p> |
