<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate inconvenience resulting from increasing visibility of the display part of an ink jet printer, laser printer or the like by raising brightness of an LED. <P>SOLUTION: An LED display part 20 is disposed above the operation part 1 of a device main body 11 and the lower face of a portion 30 above the LED display part 20 of the device main body 11 is recessed inward. The LED display part 20 is disposed in a shadow made by an illuminating light from above. Disposing the LED display part 20 in the shadow makes it easy for a user to become aware that the LED is turned on. The operation part 1 is inclined in an oblique upward direction. Since the LED display part 20 is directed in a forward oblique upward direction and the light (optical axis 40) of the LED is directed in the forward oblique direction, the LED display part becomes the shadow of part of the main body even under a bright room light, and lighting is easily visible.
