PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lift device for work easily installable in and separable from a work part, and capable of efficiently performing work while moving over a wide range including an elevated spot position. SOLUTION: This lift device for the work supports the whole via a receiving stage 104 arranged horizontally long in the required height. The lift device 10 for the work is characterized by having a vertically long base frame 12 arranged so as to be leaned against the receiving stage side 104 and suspended and supported by the receiving stage 104, a lift stage 14 vertically movably arranged to the base frame 12, a vertically moving means 16 vertically moving the lift stage 14 and a laterally moving means 18 laterally moving the base frame 14 in a state of being suspended and supported by the receiving stage 104. Thus, a worker on the lift stage 14 can perform the work while easily, vertically and laterally moving, and cost can be reduced by shortening a construction period by improving working efficiency.
