PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve installation work of a hopper, relating to a garbage disposer. SOLUTION: In the garbage disposer, a sink base 82 is inserted in a sink flange 81 fitted in a drainage port of a kitchen sink 70 from the back side, thereafter the sink base is fixed to the kitchen sink with a sink nut 83. Screw holes 96c, 96d are provided only in specific engagement pieces 94c, 94d provided in the sink base. An engagement piece 94 of the sink base is engaged with a metal fitting 85 so that these screw holes face against screw holes 105, 106 of the metal fitting 85 mounted on the outer peripheral surface of a hopper part 3, then is fixed with screws in the state. The engagement piece having the screw holes is mounted on the metal fitting having such the screw holes, thereby fastening the metal fitting to the sink base.
