PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extra-fine copper alloy wire which is an extra-fine wire of≤0.025 mm final wire diameter, combines high strength characteristics with low resistivity characteristics (high electric conductivity), hardly causes strength reduction even under thermal load, and has high heat resistance, to provide an extra-fine copper alloy stranded wire, and also to provide their manufacturing methods. SOLUTION: Silver in an amount of 1 to 3 wt.% is added to pure copper to form a copper alloy, and wire drawing is carried out to prepare an extra-fine copper alloy wire of 0.010 to 0.025 mm wire diameter. Subsequently, heat treatment is applied at 300 to 500°C for 0.2 to 5 sec. By this procedure, a tensile strength of≥850 MPa, an electric conductivity of≥85% IACS and an elongation of 0.5 to 3.0% can be produced. Moreover, in heating treatment at≤350°C for≤5 sec, the lowering ratio of tensile strength (σ<SB>h1</SB>) after the heating treatment to tensile strength (σ<SB>h0</SB>) before the heating treatment, [(1-σ<SB>h1</SB>/σ<SB>h0</SB>)×100%], is made to≤2%.
