PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a yellow toner for manufacturing the toner of a narrow particle size distribution simply in a short manufacturing time while controlling a toner particle size, suppressing red discoloration of a pigment, and substantially reducing a process load. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the yellow toner has (1) a process of dispersing a Color Index Pigment Yellow 74 (pigment yellow 74) into a dissolved binder resin containing a polyester and (2) a process of manufacturing the emulsified particles of the binder resin containing the pigment yellow 74 in an aqueous medium in the presence of an alkali.
