VIRUS-SUSPENSION COLLECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and safely treating fecal samples in the case of detecting viruses in feces. SOLUTION: The method for collecting virus suspensions uses a fecal collection container comprising both a tubular fecal collection tube and a filtrate tube. The fecal collection tube is provided with a dissolving and housing chamber inside for housing a dissolving solution for dissolving feces; one end part in which a fecal collection rod for collecting feces is to be inserted; and the other end part provided with a filter for filtering a suspension. The filtrate tube is to be mounted to the other end part of the fecal collection tube. After the fecal collection rod covered with feces is inserted in the fecal collection container, the feces adhering to the fecal collection rod are dissolved in the dissolving solution. Then the fecal collection container is centrifuged to collect only a liquid layer in the filtrate tube passed through the filter in the method for collecting virus suspensions. The method for collecting virus suspensions is provided to enable the collection of feces to the collection of a virus suspension with one and the same fecal collection container.
