A repeater in a wired/wireless network system and a method for saving power a mobile terminal in the repeater are provided to solve a problem that when a mobile terminal frequently exchanges a refresh message with home network devices, its power is rapidly consumed. A checking unit(200) checks whether a message received in a power saving mode of a mobile terminal is a refresh message. When the received message is a refresh message, a controller(202) stores the corresponding refresh message until the mobile terminal is changed from the power saving mode to an operation state. The refresh message is a message for grasping states of devices included in a wired/wireless network system and is generated at certain time intervals. |
