<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having excellent regenerating durability in the optical recording medium having a recording layer comprising a coloring matter with an oxonol skeleton. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium having the recording layer comprising the coloring matter on a substrate, is characterized in that the coloring matter is a coloring matter expressed by general formula (1), and an intermediate layer comprising an inorganic substance exists between the substrate and the recording layer. In the general formula (1), A, B, C and D are respectively electron-attracting groups in which the sum of Hammett's σp values of A and B and the sum of Hammett's σp values of C and D are respectively ≥0.6, A and B or C and D may connect to each other to form a ring, R is a substituent on a methin carbon, n is an integer of 0-1, Y<SP>t+</SP>is a t-valent cation, and t is an integer of 1-10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
