摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a carbon powder having high packing property for an electrode plate of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon powder having high packing property for an electrode plate of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is manufactured through a process of imparting high packing property to a carbonaceous powder by adding dynamic energy to the carbonaceous powder to obtain spherical powder particles having 1.1 or more ratio of apparent densities before and after the process and 1 or less ratio of median diameters before and after the process. It is preferable that the 15 &mu;m-limited average circularity of the carbon powder having high packing property after the process is 0.850 or more; the carbonaceous powder before the process has an interlayer distance (d002) of 0.345 nm or less and a crystallite size (Lc) of 10 nm or more; and the carbon powder having high packing property has a median diameter of 5 to 50 &mu;m and a BET specific surface area of 25 m<SP>2</SP>/g or less.
