<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing images formed on a plurality of image carriers respectively from deviating in a composition position on a transfer belt with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A voltage applied to a prescribed motor rotating a driving roller for running the transfer belt is gradually increased in a state of controlling running of the transfer belt, and it is detected whether or not the driving roller idles during the gradual increase of the voltage, and a transfer position on the transfer belt of images formed on the plurality of image carriers is adjusted on the basis of the detection result. Adjustment of the transfer position may be executed on condition that a difference equal to or larger than a prescribed value occurs between a present temperature or humidity and a preliminarily set reference temperature or reference humidity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
