摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform detection with high relative-wavelength resolving power, high absolute-wavelength resolving power or high paired-wavelength sensitivity by a small-sized inexpensive device. <P>SOLUTION: An excitation wavelength converter 12 which emits light 24 upon the reaction with several kinds of excitations 20; that is, one or a plurality of a certain kind of light sources are provided. A diffusion member 30 diffuses the light 24 from the converter 12 so as to be expanded along one direction or many directions on the incident surface of a transmission structure 40. The transmission structure 40 receives diffused light 32 by its incident surface to emit the same from its emitting surface to a photon detecting member 50 to bring about wavelength data. The photon energy transmission characteristics of the structure 40 are laterally modified along the incident surface of the structure 40 and the diffusion member 30 emits diffused light 32 so as to be expanded on the incident surface of the structure 40 along one direction containing the direction not crossing the lateral modification direction of the photon energy transmission characteristics at a right angle or many directions.
