<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing which can be easily press-fitted into a housing, and can reduce the wear and plastic deformation of the housing during use, and further to provide a method for manufacturing an outer race. <P>SOLUTION: A needle roller bearing 1 uses an outer race 11 made of steel. In this case, the axial shape of the outer surface of the outer race 11 is not a straight line. The outer surface of the outer race 11 is an unhardened portion 16 which has not treated by a hardening process.
