<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach/detach a scaler tip to/from a handpiece without using an attachment/detachment tool when attaching/detaching it thereto/therefrom. <P>SOLUTION: This ultrasonic scaler is formed of a handpiece body 10, and the scaler tip 20 which is detachably connected to the tip of the handpiece body 10 and to which ultrasonic vibration is transmitted from the handpiece body 10. The scaler tip 20 has a flange portion 20a whose end face connected to the handpiece body 10 is formed into a flat surface, and the handpiece body 10 has a tip cap 11 threadedly engaged with the handpiece body tip portion 12b. The tip cap 11 has axially extending slits 11a and 1b in the tip portion and the scaler tip is inserted therein through the slits. After the insertion, the engagement of the tip cap 11 is fastened, the tip-portion flat surface of the scaler tip 20 is connected to the tip portion of a vibration transmission shaft 2 to fix the scaler tip 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
