PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means and method of activating ionized molecule before fragmentation at a tandem type mass spectrometer. SOLUTION: The tandem type mass spectrometer 100 has a first collision cell 124 for receiving ions to be analyzed, and a second collision cell 128 adjacently arranged at downstream side of the first collision cell, and at upstream side of a mass spectrograph 140. The first collision cell 124 can intensify an internal energy of the ion to be analyzed before the ion enters into the second collision cell 128. The level of the internal energy intensified at the first collision cell 124 is made not enough for fragmentation of the majority of the ions to be analyzed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
