PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data generation program and method which can create a slide show of good appearance with music where a picture and a music are integrated. SOLUTION: A computer is made to function as a means 13 for calculating the range of picture reproduction time based on the quantity of picture data, the recommended value of slide interval and the reproduction time of moving picture data, a means 14 for comparing the range of music reproduction time and picture reproduction time and comparing the excess time or the deficient time with a predetermined time if the music reproduction time deviates from the range of picture reproduction time, a means 15 for reproducing the picture data or music data repeatedly or displaying the last picture data longer for the excess time based on the comparison results and generating data for a home electric apparatus such that the picture data for the deficient time can be reproduced with no music, and a means 17 for displaying a screen informing the comparison results on the display means 5.
