PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of converting the images read optically into those of higher picture quality. SOLUTION: A printer device 10 prints the same test image by a plurality of number of times. It compares a plurality of printed test images each other to discriminate uneven density which is steady from what is not steady. For a region where uneven density steadyly occurs, a correction factor for correcting uneven density is calculated, based on the density value of the test image read in the region; while a correction factor is calculated, by excluding the density value of a region where uneven density does not steadyly occurs.
