PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably operate an internal combustion engine at a set ignition timing without being affected by the accuracy for fitting a rotor to a core and surely prevent kickback and reverse rotation from occurring during the start of the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: During the start of the internal combustion engine, a control means 15 drives a switching element 12 with a drive pulse provided based on a second positive induced voltage immediately after a negative induced voltage provided in a trigger coil 2 among the first and second positive induced voltages provided in the trigger coil 2 by the rotation of the rotor 3.
