PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an engine controller from a temperature change near an engine and vibration, and to improve maintainability by providing the engine controller in a utility room. SOLUTION: An upper structure 3 of a hydraulic shovel 1 is provided with a machine room 17 in which an engine 9, a heat exchanger device 13, and the like are arranged. The utility room 18 for storing various articles is provided between the machine room 17 and a cab 6, and the engine controller 33 is provided in the utility room 18. The engine controller 33 is thereby protected from the temperature change and vibration generated during the operation of the engine 9. Maintenance work or the like performed by connecting an operation checking device 36 to the engine controller 33, for instance, is smoothly performed in a large space on the utility room 18 side.
