PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension adjustment device for a printer in which the tension adjustment of an adjustment roller is performed only on one side of the adjustment roller. SOLUTION: The tension adjustment device for the printer is provided by comprising an adjustment roller 52 for passing a web for the printer from a supply roller of the web and a tension roller 54 positioned downstream of the adjustment roller 52, and in order to measure tension caused by the web 14 at both ends of the tension roller 54, further comprising a pair of transducers positioned on both ends of the tension roller 54, a bearing cup 68 disposed on one side of the adjustment roller 52 and having a bearing housing 70, a penetration bore 72 of a bearing housing 70 having an inwardly-oriented helical tooth 74, and an elongate shaft 76 having an outwardly-oriented helical tooth 78 engaged with the inwardly-oriented helical tooth 74 of the bore 72, wherein the bearing cup 68 and the side of the adjustment roller 52 having the bearing cup 68 are moved by the rotation of the elongate shaft 76.
