The invention relates to a viewing device with a housing (4; 4"; 4'"; 4<SUP>V</SUP>) comprising a front (2) and a rear (3), at least the front (2) having viewing openings (5) for viewing a flat object present on an object support (6; 6"; 6'"; 6<SUP>V</SUP>) in the interior of the housing (4; 4"; 4'"; 4<SUP>V</SUP>). The front and rear (2, 3) are interconnected along two opposite connecting lines (7, 8) in such a manner that they can be spaced apart from a rest position, in which they lie flat against each other, to a viewing position. The aim of the invention is to provide a viewing device (1-1<SUP>V</SUP>) which is as flat as possible in its rest position and which can be changed to a viewing position in a simple and reproducible manner and with little effort, the front (2), in the viewing position, having a preferably planar or only slightly arched surface. For this purpose, the housing (4; 4"; 4'"; 4<SUP>V</SUP>) of the viewing device (1-1<SUP>V</SUP>) can be folded and comprises at least one lateral wall in the viewing position. The housing (4; 4"; 4'"; 4<SUP>V</SUP>) is erected by means of a lever-type cover element which at least partially covers the front (2) in the rest position of the viewing device (1-1<SUP>V</SUP>) and which can be swiveled outward in order to erect the housing (4; 4"; 4'"; 4<SUP>V</SUP>). |
