The conveyor has a control unit with a protection device, and an integrated flow guiding system (47) e.g. feeder rail or cable channel, for transmission of electrical energy, control signals and/or bus signals and for data transmission. The control unit is attached to the guiding system. A connection assembly is provided for electrical or mechanical connection with another conveyor. An independent claim is also included for a method of assembling a conveyor system.
