A light emitting device and a backlight assembly using the same are provided to change the structure of the first terminal, thereby increasing the brightness of the device. An upper surface of a housing(20) is opened so that an opening is formed. A light emitting member(10) is received to the opening of the housing. The first terminal is arranged at the lower portion of the light emitting member. The second terminal is connected with the first terminal and formed with a curved shape. The third terminal is connected with the second terminal and formed along the edge of the housing. At least one or more light emitting devices are mounted to a circuit substrate. A light guide panel guides the light beam irradiated from the light emitting device. At least one pair or more adhesion pads are formed on the circuit substrate and the third terminal is connected with the adhesion pad.
