A method and a system for providing steering controlling to a vehicle by using a video signal of a camera are provided to mount a camera on a front end part of the vehicle, recognize a lane, on which the vehicle is driven, by using a video signal of the camera, and take the driving state of the vehicle into account, to recognize the center of a steering wheel, thereby controlling a steering system. A camera(310) photographs a front situation of a driving direction of a vehicle and transmits the video signal to an image processor(320). The image processor(320) creates a La value by using a video signal from the camera(310). A steering angle sensor(180) transmits an electrical signal proportional to a rotation angle of a steering wheel to an ECU(160). A speed sensor(330) measures the speed of the vehicle. A torque sensor(340) detects torque of a steering shaft and transmits an electrical signal proportional to the torque to the ECU(160).
