<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device that can easily and quickly adjust control operation, and can quickly determine whether the adjustment has been properly performed or not, and a discharge lamp lighting device. <P>SOLUTION: A control means 9 comprises an operation processing part 26a that implements an adjustment program by using an adjustment signal inputted via an external signal input part 6 at adjustment operation, and applies operation processing to control coefficients K1, K2 by controlling a high-frequency lighting circuit 3 so that an electric characteristic detected by an electric characteristic detection means 5 reaches a prescribed value.
