<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional DC-DC converter capable of attaining a terminal voltage in a desired range even if a difference is required between a step-down and step-up ratios. <P>SOLUTION: In this DC-DC converter 10, switching frequencies for operating a switching device are set independently at step-down and step-up. For example, by setting the switching frequency at step-up lower than that at step-down, a duty controllable tolerance of PWM control can be increased to compensate for a shortfall of the step-up ratio.
