<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slave column for a handrail enabling a post-attachment and a mounting method capable of mounting the handrail for stairs in a short time by using the slave column. <P>SOLUTION: The slave column can be mounted between the handrail 1 and a tread 4 for the stairs after the handrail 1 is stretched and fitted between two master columns 3 disposed in upright to an upper floor and a lower floor. The slave column is composed of a slave-column body 11 inserting an upper end section 11a into a mortice H formed to the underside of the handrail 1 and inserting a lower end section 11b into the mortice H formed to the top face of the tread 4 and cylindrical upper decorative member 12 and lower decorative member 13 fitted to approximately the upper half section and approximately the lower half section of the slave-column body 11 in a vertically movable manner. The upper decorative member 12 is lifted after the slave column body 11 is mounted between the handrail 1 and the tread 4, the upper end face of the upper decorative member 12 is fixed onto the underside of the handrail 1 and the lower end face of the lower decorative member 13 is fixed onto the top face of the tread 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
