<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive recorder for specifying the moving path of a vehicle without using any GPS. <P>SOLUTION: The drive recorder is provided with a camera 1 installed in a vehicle V and a control part 3 for processing an image photographed by the camera 1. The control part 3 is provided with character recognizing means 31 and 32 for recognizing characters included in the image based on the photographed image and a storage means 33 for storing the recognized character information in association with the time.
