Prospecting probe - containing a semiconductor detector - and a cryostat

In the survey a probe is lowered down a bore hole and instruments in the probe allow an accurate spectroscopic analysis of gamma radiation emitted by the rocks around the bore hole. In the proble are mounted a semiconductor detector, a cryostat, a voltage generator for the detector and an amplifier unit. This system permits a very high resolution analysis.
