<p>Fuel rods are arranged in triangular pitch and moderator rods are distributed amongst them on a triangular pitch of greater size, replacing fuel rods at various points in the array. The fuel rods are positioned by spacer grids which have hexagonal openings for the rods. Fuel rods are pref. held in grid openings by four bosses in wall of opening and by pressure of a leaf spring. Assembly gives max. absorption efficiency.</p> |
