<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the line trouble on ATM line cannot be notified to an opposed ATM device which is communication-connected to the ATM line via IP network line. <P>SOLUTION: This ATM device 3 connects communication between the ATM line 6 and the IP network line 4 and communication-connects with the opposed ATM device 3A connected to the IP network line 4. The ATM device 3 comprises: an ATM line monitoring portion 13 for monitoring line troubles on the ATM line; an OAM cell creating portion 25 which, upon detection of a line trouble on the ATM line by the ATM line monitoring portion, creates an OAM cell corresponding to the line trouble; an encapsulation portion 21 for creating an IP packet by encapsulating the OAM cell based on MAC header and IP header related to the opposed ATM device 3A; and an IP network line interface 12 for transmitting the IP packet encapsulated by the encapsulation portion to the opposed ATM device 3A via a layer 2 switch 5, IP network line 4, and opposed layer 2 switch 5A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
