<p>Flash evaporation desalination unti for sea-water comprises a number of evaporation/condensation chambers and a degasser for the in-coming sea-water. The degasser is also incorporated in the last chamber (at a low temp.) and this operates in independent extraction of the incondensable products contained in the sea-water. The high capacity 'multiflash' plant described has 25 evaporation/condensation stages, arranged at two levels, of which 22 are for heat recovery and 3 for reject. The chambers are placed side by side with all the orifices necessary for the circulation of the fluids from one chamber to the next. The cost of connecting pipes is thus considerably reduced.</p> |
