<p>A mechanism for cycling a small number of moulds in close succession along a linear parison axis counter to the extrusion direction and a complementary cycle through mould cooling and ejection operations. Each mould is supported on a hinged lever system between a drive disc and a guide rail or envelope. Pref. subsidiary guides align the moulds as they move and control the mould opening and ejection motions. For producing blow-moulded bottles etc., esp. in relatively small batches. Requires fewer replicate moulds than a regular array on a turntable or belt to fully utilise a continuously extruded parison and can be adapted to form mouldings of different sizes concurrently.</p> |
