PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display capable of automatically adjusting a refresh rate according to a frequency of ambient light, and a method for adjusting the refresh rate. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display has an optical sensor provided in a liquid crystal panel and detects an optical signal of ambient light by the optical sensor and has the refresh rate automatically adjusted by a driving controller.
