PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an L-type steel retaining wall constructible even in a mountaneous place or a narrow place in a city area or the like, easily and safely constructed in a short-term process and safely constructed with easy conveyance and assembly without using heavy materials and heavy machinery. SOLUTION: The L-type steel retaining walls constructed by arranging a plurality of L-type post bodies 3 independently at appropriate spaces in the width direction in which the retaining wall is formed, disposing a wall surface material 4 on the front side of the plurality of L-type post bodies 3, and forming banking on the back face side of the wall surface material 4. Each of the plurality of L-type post bodies 3 is formed by arranging and fixing three members which are a bottom face beam member 5, and a bottom face front end girder member 6 and a back face anchor beam member 7 mounted in the front and rear positions of the bottom face beam member 5, to form I-shape in a plan view on the whole, fixing a vertical post member 9 to the front end of the bottom face beam member 5 to extend upward, and laying a diagonal tie member 10 between the bottom face beam member 5 and the vertical post member 9.
