PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polymer-clay nano-composite material by using water as a base. SOLUTION: The method for the production of an intercalated and/or delaminated natural or synthetic clay by using water as a base uses a latex-form block copolymer containing at least one non-polar block and one or more cation blocks.
