The rotor has hollow cylindrical permanent magnets (20) with axial contact surfaces (76) that cooperate with two retaining units (24, 25), where the retaining units are formed as sleeves with axial shoulders.. The permanent magnets and a sensor magnet assembly (22) are held together axially between the two retaining units. The two retaining units exhibit two spring units (26, 27) e.g. disc springs, respectively, where the spring units are elastically deformed axially towards the two retaining units. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rotor.
