<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unevenness of the rotating speed of the output shaft of a reduction gear caused by the elastic deformation of a planet roller from affecting an image, irrespective of the temperature of the elastic planet roller. <P>SOLUTION: A driving apparatus 1 includes: a planet roller type power transmission unit; a temperature sensor 5b; a delay time deciding part 103; and an image processing control part 104. The planet roller type transmission unit includes: a plurality of planet rollers that are brought in press contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft of the motor 2, and partly constituted of an elastic body; a ring whose inner peripheral surface comes in contact with the plurality of planet rollers; a carrier roller that rotates cooperatively with the rotation of the planet roller; and the output shaft for outputting the rotation of the carrier roller to the outside. The temperature Te of the planet roller or near the planet roller is detected by the temperature sensor 5b. A delay time Td until an image forming processing starts after the motor 2 starts is decided by the delay time deciding part 103 based on the temperature Te.
