<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector capable of improving the image quality and radiation sensitivity, and to provide an imaging device that uses the same. <P>SOLUTION: The radiation detector is formed, such that on the X-ray incident surface of a scintillator 31, a read out pattern P is laminated. Thus, most of the incident X-rays are stopped in the incident surface of the scintillator 31 and converted into visible light photons ph, after transmission through the read out pattern P. At this time, since there is available the read pattern P in the proximity of the incident surface side of the scintillator 31, the visible photons ph are not scattered or if scattered, but the visible photons ph will not be scattered not so much, and by the read out pattern P converted into carriers.
