PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device and method capable of carrying out vehicle control so as to conform to an actual sense of a driver when running through a curve, and to provide a device for deriving a vehicle speed-handle turning speed relationship to be used in such vehicle control or the like. SOLUTION: A curve information acquiring means 8 is provided for acquiring curve information C in an advancing direction of one's vehicle 2. A traveling state information acquiring means 3 is provided for acquiring information of a present traveling state of one's vehicle 2. A relationship deriving means 9 is provided for determining a relationship between a vehicle speed and a handle turning speed when running through the curve on the basis of the curve information C. A control means 14 is provided for determining a target traveling state for providing a turning speed of a handle H when traveling through the curve at a predetermined threshold or less on the basis of the determined relationship, and carrying out control for assimilating the present traveling state to the target traveling state.
