<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current-voltage nonlinear resistor contributive to miniaturization of a lightning arrester in which the resistance, nonlinear resistance characteristics and thermal stability can be enhanced by specifying the composition range of subcomponents. <P>SOLUTION: The current-voltage nonlinear resistor principally comprises zinc oxide (ZnO) and contains bismuth (Bi), cobalt (Co), manganese (Mn), antimony (Sb), nickel (Ni), gallium (Ga), and rare earth element (R), as subcomponents, in the range of 0.3-1.5 mol% in terms of Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0.3-2.0 mol% in terms of Co<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0.4-3 mol% in terms of MnO, 0.5-4 mol% in terms of Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0.5-4 mol% in terms of NiO, 0.0005-0.02 mol% in terms of Ga<SP>3+</SP>, and 0.05-1.0 mol% in terms of R<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
