PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway bogie having a suspension capable of realizing a very small air gap between a linear induction motor and a reaction rail, and supporting a bogie body, and optimized so as to satisfy the specified requirements of the linear induction motor. SOLUTION: The railway bogie is provided with two cross-members for supporting a linear induction motor. The cross members are mounted on axle boxes by means of resilient mounting means allowing limited pivoting movement of each cross-member about a horizontal transversal axis of rotation. A system of five links is used to connect the linear induction motor to the cross-members. The links are located in such a way that the resultant of the vertical forces transmitted by the linear induction motor to each cross-member is located at a first center position on the first transversal axis equidistant from the axle boxes.
