PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate complexity in operations in an operation system of a photographing apparatus such as a digital camera. SOLUTION: A virtual film comprised of a plurality of frames and representing visibly whether each of the frames is photographed or non-photographed, is displayed on a monitor of a digital camera. For example, an operation means such as a rotary dial is operated to select a desired frame on the virtual film. If the selected frame is photographed already, a camera mode is switched to a reproduction mode to display an enlarged image of that image.
