PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an enlarged video image at a suitable speed even when the speed of capturing a video image by an imaging device is rapid in an enlargement display device. SOLUTION: This display device provided with an imaging means for scanning an image including characters to acquire video data and a displaying means for displaying the video data acquired by the imaging means by enlarging the video data, is provided with a speed detecting means for detecting a scanning speed for scanning the image, a storing means for previously storing a reference speed of a scanning speed, a determining means for determining whether a scanning speed exceeds the reference speed, a temporarily storing means for temporarily storing the video data acquired by the imaging means when the scanning speed exceeds the reference speed as a determination result of the determining means, and a control means for making the displaying means display a delay image whose display speed is delayed from the video data stored in the temporarily storing means.
