PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape measure capable of imparting effective braking when drawing out a measuring tape, irrespective of the wound diameter of the measuring tape. SOLUTION: This tape measure has the measuring tape, a reel wound with the measuring tape, a case for holding rotatably the reel, and a braking part for restraining rotational force of the measuring tape, when drawing out the measuring tape, and the braking part has a braking member for pressure-contacting with the outer circumferential edge part of the measuring tape, that accompanies the rotation along the drawing-out direction of the measuring tape.
