PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the movement of a Hall IC 11 due to a resin coating 4. SOLUTION: The Hall IC 11, for detecting variations in magnetic field due to rotation and converting them into electrical signals, is mounted to a holder 20, and an output cable 6 is drawn out from the Hall IC via lead pieces 12 of the Hall IC and applied with a resin coating 4 in a rotation detection sensor P. A recess 14 for fitting a detection part (a), comprising the Hall IC and the lead pieces 12, is formed in the holder 20. A claw 15 for fastening the Hall IC 11 inside of the recess is provided. Fastening of the claw 15 makes it difficult for coating resins to enter between the Hall IC and the holder. Even if coating resins have entered, the Hall IC will not move from its positioned location. In both connection parts 9 and 9 between the pair of lead pieces 12 and a pair of core wires 6a of the output cable, a partition 22 that prevents the core wires 6a from short-circuiting, the recess 24 prevents solder heat from diffusing, and a partition 25 prevents the core wires from coming off.
