PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable printing processing based on preliminary printing and a printing job without requiring a host computer of processing for the preliminary printing. SOLUTION: In starting printing processing by a preliminary printing mode, a predetermined page number is executed as the preliminary printing on the basis of set position information and image quality information. The position information and image quality information based on the preliminary printing result are made changeable (steps 120-130). After this, when input operation to continue the processing is carried out, it is checked whether or not the position information and image quality information are changed. Without the change, the printing processing to remaining pages of pages subjected to the preliminary printing is resumed (steps 132-138).
