A broadsheet newspaper printing press (10) has at least one print unit (12, 14, 16, 18) printing at least one web (100) of material and a folder (80). The folder (80) has a cross- cutter (50) to cut the web (100) of material into broadsheet newspapers (92), a tucker cylinder (60) having a gripper gripping the broadsheet newspapers (92) at a lead edge and a tucking blade (66, 67) for forming a cross-fold in the broadsheet newspapers (92), and a jaw cylinder (70) or fold rollers to receive the cross-folded broadsheet newspapers (92) from the tucker cylinder (60) at the cross-fold, the gripper being located with respect to the tucking blade (66, 67) so that the cross-fold is located at between 33% and 45% or 55% and 67% of the height of the newspaper (92). |
